Vespers

I’ve had a busy week, with rehearsals on Monday and Thursday nights, and then this afternoon. Back there again tomorrow night, of course. Our next concert is the Rachmaninov Vespers at the concert hall on 5 November.
Here’s how we sounded in 2002:

[...] Our concert on Sunday went pretty well. It had an interesting beginning, when our tenor soloist went somewhere different with his bit before the choir’s entry. As the work is unaccompanied, we just had to go along with the new (higher!) key – well, at least we all got there eventually. I spent some time suspecting that the new key was a ploy to help the basses, who had to sing some very low notes later on. Anyway, it got better after that! [...]
