Remembrance Day

Swinging

Elena slept over last night and tonight, partly in preparation for the 5 or so nights she’ll be sleeping over in a couple weeks when Monika gives birth. Monika and Maurice picked up the girls this morning and took them out of the city to do wholesome family things like picking cherries and eating ice cream.

Ruffey Lake

In their absence, I mowed the lawn to even it out, although most of it is already dead thanks to the dry weather we’ve been having (and now that we have Stage 2 water restrictions, I need feel no compunction to water it.) I then took George for a walk at Ruffey Lake so that he could get into the water – it was only 23 C or so, but quite hot in the sun, particularly for a black dog. Then I came home and got into my hammock with an iced coffee and the Saturday crossword puzzles.
