New Year’s Eve

Posted on | January 1, 2007 | No Comments

We went into the City again for the New Year’s Eve fireworks (the 9:15 pm family edition), this time with Yvonne and Phoebe. We started the festivities with some body art at Camberwell train station. For Tilda, the big appeal of going in for the fireworks was the rides she could go on beforehand, especially as the fireworks reduced her to tears last year thanks to the noise. This year she had earplugs, and my hands covering her ears as well, so the noise was okay. She covered her eyes for the first 5 minutes, which is I think is the result of New Year’s Eve 2 years ago, when she held some sparklers too close to her face and had sore eyes the next day. Once I assured her that these fireworks wouldn’t hurt her eyes, she was willing to watch them, and eventually she decided they were very good.
