Cheesy toast

Cheesy toast with a side of mushrooms at Richmond Hill Cafe

Monika took me for a birthday breakfast at Richmond Hill Cafe this morning, which was lovely and peaceful as both of our girls were in kinder. I had cheesy toast, of course, and mushrooms, and 2 flat whites.

Afterwards I did a quick run through the discount clothing shops along Bridge Rd. We have a concert tomorrow evening at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. As we’ll be outside in atrociously hot weather, the dress code has been relaxed enough for the women to be allowed short-sleeved tops (and we get to take water onstage!), but I didn’t have anything black and short-sleeved. I found a $5 tank top and a $10 lacy shruggy thing, which look acceptable together and definitely good enough for $15, even if I never wear them again.

The car has been in the shop for 10 days, and I’ve been feeling so virtuous using public transportation; it’s definitely helped to get us off to a good start with walking to kinder as well. However, it’s 36C outside and I’ve already been on 5 buses and 1 train today, with plans to be on at least 6 more buses and 3 more trains in the next 36 hours. Tilda also started crying on the walk home from kinder and had to have a little rest under a tree. When I found out that I could get the car back this afternoon, I cancelled all my imminent public transport plans.
