Ships that pass in the night

In case you’re wondering why I haven’t updated for a while, I’ve hardly seen Tilda recently. She went on holiday to the Mornington Peninsula with Elena over the weekend, and then was off again on Monday to go trout-fishing with Elena. (“Wouldn’t you rather stay home and spend time with Mummy?” “No, actually I want to go fishing!”) I’m sure Monika will have lots of lovely photos, and I’ll get them eventually.
I’ve also had more rehearsals lately, as I was invited to join the Ensemble, a smaller group within the Melbourne Chorale. Until I realize how crazy it is, I will be going to both Symphonic Chorus and Ensemble rehearsals, so now I sing Monday and Wednesday nights (thanks to Monika and Sanjot, respectively.)
Last week was my first rehearsal with the Ensemble, and we rehearsed Tallis’ The Lamentations of Jeremiah – very nice, but all that sightreading and concentrating gave me a headache. Tonight we started rehearsing Mozart’s Requiem, which I won’t be able to perform because we get back from Canada the day before the concert. Even though I’ve performed the Requiem before, I saw Amadeus 5 times in the theatre at a very impressionable age. Tonight I was swooning all over again.
