In Tilda’s bed

George loves to sleep in Tilda’s bed, and is always very keen to join us when we get into her bed for bedtime stories. Unfortunately, George also likes to join me when I go to bed, and the noise of him jumping down inevitably wakes up Tilda, who also wants to join me. Then I have Tilda snoring and coughing beside me while I’m trying to get to sleep, which annoys me, although having her join me after I’ve gone to sleep doesn’t bother me at all.
So the compromise is that if George wants to get into Tilda’s bed, he has to get in with no help from me (i.e. I don’t press against the back of his head while he climbs up – I’m not quite sure how that works, but it’s how you help dogs climb up into things.) He’s quite determined and almost always manages it, which is impressive given that he has to climb up a ladder.
