Laundry Girl

Posted on | October 7, 2007 | 1 Comment

After catching up a bit on household chores, I was finally able to start on Tilda’s quilt.

I decided to use something like string piecing, so I’m sewing strips onto muslin squares in a completely random way, except that Tilda wants me to make sure that Laundry Girl is prominent. She’s also quite keen on helping and making decisions for me.  I managed to whip up 6 blocks this afternoon anyway.

This is what I was going for, but I think it’s too much – not as pretty as the strips of fabric hanging from the laundry rack. I’m currently leaning towards putting strips of sashing between the blocks.
