Decoration

I intended to take down the Christmas tree, lights, and decorations on Sunday when the cool change arrived, but I woke up that day feeling absolutely awful – sick with a sore throat, and probably suffering from the hot day before. I spent much of the day napping, and Tilda spent all of the day watching tv or on the computer (when she wasn’t trying to wake me up from a nap.)
By Sunday evening I was feeling much better, and I took all the Christmas stuff down on Monday. On Tuesday it seems that I was really missing the Christmas decorations, because I framed the castle painting that I got from Tilda for Christmas (courtesy of Mrs Mayo),
hung up the windcatcher that Arlene had sent,
put the Christmas lights up again, this time in the backyard where they’re just generally festive when we eat outside,
and made a cushion. Not to mention that I spent a couple of hours pulling weeds. It was a high-energy day.
The white strips in the cushion are my wedding dress fabric. (Don’t worry, Mom – I did not cut up the wedding dress whose construction so traumatized you. I still had scraps of the fabric that I’d never done anything with.)
Obviously I was prompted to get the dress out and try it on. Tilda and I managed to do up the zipper (yay!) but I wouldn’t call it comfortable (boo! better go have a chocolate-covered cherry!)
